Fowl Night

Last night was a little weird.

First of all, it stopped raining.

*shocker, I know.*

So Ian and I headed out after dinner to explore a nearby mega park (more on that another time.)

Secondly, while traipsing through one of the gardens, we came to a redwood area that was very serene.

There was a couple back in the back of this part looking straight up, and they excitedly showed us two owls.

OWLS!

whooooo's and all.

Now this might seem rather common place for some of you, but I don't know if I have EVER seen an owl outside of a zoo!

And for some reason, I was just enthralled.

These owls seemed almost mythical to me...like owls were only alleged creatures such as the Easter Bunny or Loch Ness, instead of a pretty typical fowl.

And finally, as we left the park, right above us a BALD EAGLE swooped down and stole a baby crow out of its nest. Now, usually I would be all sad for that baby bird, but I hate crows. Hate them. And I've never seen an eagle in the wild either so I was all...

"YAY eagle! Get that crow! Wow, look at him go!"

And the man at the bus stop might have been a little bit terrified of me in that moment.

My bad.

I know what you mean about Owls coming across mythical. They come across to me as quite aloof.
